This hour is one of seven in this course. The course will teach the anatomy and physiology of the breasts and anterior thoracic structures. Dr. Paul Evans delves into the many abnormalities, conditions, dangers, and precautions to take when treating patients in the prone position. This course will describe the common dysfunctions, surgical procedures, and alterations to the breasts, along with the risks associated with them.
Learning Objectives
On completion, participants will be able to consider the common dysfunctions, surgical procedures, and alterations of the breasts before placing a patient in the prone position. In addition, they will be able to consider the risks of injury and pain to patients, the practitioner’s risk exposure when placing a patient in the prone position, and modify their procedures to improve care and reduce the risk of pain or injury.
